COVID 19 Expatriation of Indians: Evacuation plan for students studying abroad India

Every year, Indian students set their sights on studying abroad in countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Russia, China, and Ukraine. With over 20,000 students annually choosing to pursue MBBS, BBA, B.Tech, and other courses overseas, the trend continues to grow. However, amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, students abroad are facing unprecedented challenges. While adults grapple with job losses, students pursuing MBBS overseas find themselves stranded as university hostels close due to COVID-19 restrictions. Recognizing the plight of these students, the Government of India has initiated the largest evacuation effort in history to bring back Indian students studying abroad amid the coronavirus crisis.
